In a world faced with mounting challenges related to food security, environmental sustainability, and ethical consumption, Biokraft Foods stands as a shining example of innovation and progress in India. This groundbreaking biotechnology startup is at the forefront of a movement that is reshaping the way we produce and consume meat, offering a glimpse into the future of a more sustainable and responsible bioeconomy.

Biokraft Foods emerged from a vision to address the intricate challenges associated with traditional animal agriculture. The global population is projected to surpass 10 billion by 2050, heightening the need for sustainable food production methods. As over 70% of the population leans towards non-vegetarian diets, the strain on conventional meat production becomes increasingly evident. Biokraft Foods recognizes that the status quo is neither sustainable nor ethical.

Biokraft Foods is focusing on cultivated chicken meat development by harnessing the power of biotechnology to create ethical and sustainable alternatives to traditional meat. By utilizing in-vitro cell culture and 3D bioprinting, the company is paving the way for a new era in food production that holds the promise of feeding a growing population without compromising our planet’s well-being.

What sets Biokraft Foods apart from competitors is their holistic approach. Their emphasis on 3D bioprinting technology allows for precise replication of the textures and tastes of traditional meat, giving consumers a seamless transition to cultivated alternatives. Moreover, their strategic focus on Indian and Singapore market, with their significant demand for meat products, demonstrates their understanding of market dynamics and consumer preferences.

Biokraft Foods is incubated at ICT-NICE one of the reputed incubators of India giving us the required infrastructure and collaborative support. We aim for an independent R&D and manufacturing facility by end-2025. We have developed the required Proof-of-Concept (PoC)  and by mid-2024, we are expected to have a viable prototype and MVP. By end-2024 we look forward to initiating regulatory filings along with pre-commercialization and trials and by 2025, we will commercialize our product and technology.

Biokraft Foods is also focusing more on the non-dilutive approach by applying to various research grants for the required seed fund. It will help us in accelerating our R&D and team expansion. Recently, we were selected for the prestigious DST NIDHI PRAYAS Grant by SP-TBI.  We have also filed a complete process patent related to our cultivated chicken meat development using 3D Bioprinting.
