Disney+ Hotstar surpassed its own 2019 World Cup record of 2.52 crore concurrent users in the India versus New Zealand semi-final match
Disney+ Hotstar has set a new record during the Asia Cup’s super 4-round match between India and Pakistan on Monday, boasting a peak concurrency of 2.8 crore viewers in any India match so far.
With this new record on any India match on digital, Disney+ Hotstar surpassed its 2019 World Cup peak concurrency viewership numbers in the India versus New Zealand semi-final match.
Taking to X, Jay Shah, Secretary, BCCI, wrote, “Today’s India versus Pakistan has clocked 2.8 crore concurrent users on Disney+ Hotstar – the highest for any India match in the history of digital. The previous best was India versus New Zealand 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal with 2.52 crore concurrent users.”
Disney Star, which operates the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar and Star Sports channels, is broadcasting the Asia Cup on both TV and digital platforms.
