Ogilvy Mumbai Named Strategy Agency of the Year at Cannes Lions 2023; India Secures 25 Lions

This year, Indian tally includes a Grand Prix, two Gold, 10 Silver and 12 Bronze medals where Leo Burnett Mumbai emerged as the highest scoring agency

India ended its Cannes Lions campaign with 25 Lions and an Agency of the Year award by track out of 77 shortlists in 2023 vs 47 Lions in the previous year.

The Agency of the Year for Strategy was awarded to Ogilvy Mumbai for its Grand Prix and Silver in Creative Effectiveness category.

This year, Indian tally included a Grand Prix, two Gold, 10 Silver and 12 Bronze medals where Leo Burnett Mumbai emerged as the highest scoring agency.

The crown in the jewel was Ogilvy Mumbai’s Grand Prix in Creative Effectiveness category for “Shah Rukh Khan My Ad” done for Cadbury. Incidentally, the campaign was India’s first Titanum Lion winner last year.

FCB India and Leo Burnett Mumbai were the Gold winners for India.

FCB India won the first ever Gold Lion for India in the Industry Craft category which was also the first Gold Lion for the country this year.

The agency’s masterpiece of craft titled “Untangling the Politics of hair” done for Stir Magazine won the Industry Craft Gold Lion.

Leo Burnett Mumbai bagged the second Gold Lion winner from India, for ‘Airtel 175 Replayed’ campaign in the Brand Experience and Activation category.

Overall, Leo Burnett Mumbai won the maximum number of Lions for India this year with 11 medals consisting of a Gold, six Silver and four Bronze Lions.

FCB India stood second in terms of number of Lions with four awards including a Gold, two Silver and a Bronze award.

In its debut, Talented.Agency hit three Lions including a Silver and two Bronze.

Dentsu Creative also won three Bronze Lions.

DDB Mudra and Minshare Mumbai won a Bronze each.
