Prasar Bharati has invited the applications for allotment of vacant MPEG-2 slots of DD Freedish for the period July 11, 2023 to March 31, 2024, via the 70th e-auction process which will tentatively be held on July 4, 2023.
The e-auction will be conducted in accordance with the e-auction methodology for allotment of DD Freedish slots to private TV channels, Prasar Bharati said in a notification.
Only satellite channels licensed by the Ministry of I&B would be allowed to participate in the e-auction. Only companies holding valid permission from the Ministry of I&B can apply for participation in e-auction for allocation of DD Freedish slots. International public broadcasters licensed by the Ministry of I&B can also participate in e-auction.
The reserve price for Bucket A+, which includes GEC (Hindi) channels, is set at Rs 17.41 crore, while Bucket A, consisting of movie (Hindi) channels and teleshopping channels (all languages), has a reserve price of Rs 15.27 crore.
The reserve price for the bucket A+ which comprises GEC (Hindi) channels is priced at Rs 14.66 crore. Bucket A, which comprises – movie (Hindi) channels, teleshopping channels (all languages), has a reserve price of Rs 17.41 crore.
Bucket B comprising Music (Hindi) channels, sports (Hindi) channels and all channels of Bhojpuri language, has reserve price of Rs 15.27 crore.
Bucket C including news and current affairs (Hindi) channels has a reserve price of Rs 14.37 crore. Bucket D reserve price is Rs 11.58 crore which includes all other remaining genres of Hindi, devotional/ spiritual/ Ayush, all genres of Marathi, Punjabi, and Urdu channels, and news and current affairs (English) channels.
Lastly, Bucket R1, which includes all channels in the language genre, not covered in any other bucket is priced at Rs 2.20 crore.
