ROHIT SAKUNIA’s journey from struggling to survive to building a thriving business is a tale of grit, perseverance, and relentless resilience. His path wasn’t paved with immediate success, but rather with hardships, setbacks, and lessons learned the hard way. While some may see his achievements as the result of luck, the story of ROHIT SAKUNIA is much more than that. It is a profound example of the power of persistence and never giving up, no matter how difficult the road may seem.
ROHIT SAKUNIA’s story begins in 2003 when he left home for the first time, with aspirations of preparing for the CAT exam. The early days were harsh, and his circumstances far from ideal—living on just one meal a day that was served at a temple. But this period, filled with hunger and struggle, was a crucial moment in shaping his character. His resilience was already taking root. In 2004, homesickness led him to abandon his dreams, but that setback was just a pause in his larger journey.
The years that followed were not any easier for ROHIT SAKUNIA. In 2006, he found a job at a BPO earning a modest salary of Rs 12,000 per month, and shared a room with three other boys. Despite the challenges, he pressed on. But in 2007, he faced an emotional setback as his girlfriend chose someone else, leaving him heartbroken and questioning the direction of his life. At that point, life seemed dull and uninspiring, but ROHIT SAKUNIA wasn’t one to succumb to despair.
In 2008, he started his MBA, a move that would prove to be pivotal for his career. By 2010, he landed his first job post-MBA, earning Rs 27,000 per month. But despite these advancements, his career trajectory felt stagnant. ROHIT SAKUNIA’s story took another turn in 2012 when he found himself doing odd jobs, dealing with self-esteem issues as his career appeared to lack direction.
However, things began to change in 2013 when he received an offer to work at Google. This was a turning point, as it offered him the kind of opportunity he had long dreamed of. But, in 2015, life again threw a curveball—ROHIT SAKUNIA became a father, and with that, he made a bold decision to quit Google. With no job in hand and no steady income, he embraced the uncertainty and ventured into entrepreneurship.
The path of entrepreneurship wasn’t easy, though. In 2016, his first company shut down, and his first event was a disaster. Despite these failures, ROHIT SAKUNIA didn’t back down. When an offer to work in Dubai came in 2016, he turned it down, staying committed to his dreams. But 2017 found him once again unhappy and clueless, unsure of what the future held.
It was in 2018 that ROHIT SAKUNIA took the plunge and started Arte, a small company that began in a one-room office in a basement. With just four employees and a few mosquitoes for company, the early days were difficult, but he was determined to succeed. By 2019, things were getting harder. He had to withdraw from his personal account to pay his employees’ salaries. He was depressed, overweight, and facing multiple setbacks. But quitting was never an option for him.
2020 tested his limits even further as he lost Arte’s biggest client, halving his monthly revenue and losing critical employees. The weight of these challenges was crushing, but ROHIT SAKUNIA’s resilience kept him going. Despite these losses, he persisted, and by 2021, things began to change. Arte expanded, opening offices in Mumbai and Bangalore. With a renewed focus on his health, he started walking 10,000 steps every day, shedding eight kilos along the way.
By 2022, ROHIT SAKUNIA had moved into a bigger office, and his daily walks had increased to 15,000 steps, with another five kilos lost. His commitment to both his physical and professional well-being was unwavering. By 2023, he was walking 20,000 steps every day while maintaining his weight. The growth of Arte was undeniable, and by 2024, his business hit the eight-figure mark—a significant milestone in his entrepreneurial journey.
ROHIT SAKUNIA’s story is one of resilience, showing that success is never immediate. It’s about persistence, hard work, and not quitting when the odds are stacked against you. His journey from surviving on one meal a day to building an eight-figure business over 21 years is a testament to his strength of character. While some may attribute his success to luck, ROHIT SAKUNIA knows that it was his ability to bounce back from failure and keep moving forward that made all the difference.
“Some people call it luck. Smarter people call it resilience,” ROHIT SAKUNIA says, and it’s clear that his journey is far more than just a stroke of luck. It’s the result of enduring hardship, facing failure head-on, and continually finding the strength to rise again. He calls it “seeing failure up close and personal, yet not quitting,” and this philosophy has been the driving force behind his incredible success.
ROHIT SAKUNIA’s story is a reminder that success is rarely instantaneous, and it is often earned through years of struggle, setbacks, and perseverance. His resilience is a quality that defines him, and it’s a trait that anyone looking to achieve their own success can learn from.
