At Zee News’ ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ event, Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, highlighted the significant impact of road construction on regional development and employment generation. He emphasized that building roads not only improves infrastructure but also attracts industries, leading to increased employment opportunities and the overall development of the area.
Nitin Gadkari reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive growth under the policy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,’ ensuring no discrimination based on caste or religion. He also announced that 100 new airports are currently being built across the country to enhance connectivity and support economic growth. Additionally, he shared updates on the fast progress of the Delhi-Mumbai highway, a key project aimed at reducing travel time and boosting interstate commerce.
Speaking on the benefits of the new highway between Delhi and Dehradun, Gadkari revealed that travel time would be cut in half, from four hours to just two, making road travel a more efficient choice than flying. He noted that with improved road connectivity, people will likely prefer driving to Dehradun over taking a plane, showcasing how infrastructure projects are transforming travel and economic opportunities in India.
