South TV Market goes down falling and Regional Advertisers Refuse RO Renewals

Television regional market has bigger loss ever due to amid COVID-19 pandemic. In south almost 60 news channels not able to pay theirs employee salaries.

Television professional experts says Television industry facing critical situations. Because past few months there is no regional revenue for TV channels. Major advertisers not interested to giving ROs to TV channels.

Market effect in Telugu States
Most of the channels don’t have proper distribution. Raj News Telugu facing distribution problem. AP 24/7 is another channel facing bigger issue with distribution.

Both channels have very poor viewership in Telugu market. Rating wise also these two channels getting lease performance. BARC released the latest review ratings for the Week 20. Raj News Telugu and AP 24/7 both channels has less than 3 GRPs in all formats.

Total Market : AP+TS, Market : AP+ TS – Below 75L Urban, Market :AP+ TS – Rural, Market :AP+ TS – Urban, Market : Hyderabad, in all these categories these channels got just 3 GRPs only. It means no one seeing this channels.

The performance of channels worse like city cable. That’s why advertisers not interested to renewal there ROs.

Not only this channels, in South India this kind of channels list has 60. These channels facing business in regional market.
