Mumbai: Being a part of the entertainment industry is probably a dream for most but it takes a lot of struggles and efforts to make it big here. Monika Khanna, who is currently seen in Dangal TV’s Prem Bandhan, hails from New Delhi and came to Mumbai to make her dream a reality. She says the journey to date has been a rollercoaster ride but Mumbai has always welcomed her with open arms.
In an interview, when she was asked what all it took to make a considerable place in the industry, she said, “When my first show happened after struggling for 2 years, I got many followers on social media platforms and I felt like a star. I was like now I can choose my roles. But actually, my struggle started after that show. I didn’t have work for one year. I had my ups and downs. There was so much financial problem I got into. There was no stove or even a fridge and often I would just drink black coffee. But my friends have been with me through the roller-coaster ride. I can now resonate with every newcomer and the struggle they go through because I have been through that. And now, by God’s grace, I have what I need. It has taken me 12 years to make this life and this home. I am touched and really proud of myself that I am taking care of myself and my parents very beautifully. The journey has been beautiful indeed.”
We are glad Monika stuck through the struggles or the industry would have missed some really good talent.
