Hyderabad: Safer sanitised stays – that’s how premium Indian co-living brand Isthara sees the community stays sector in India in 2021. As part of a recent year-ender report, the company released a list of trends for the upcoming year.
Co-living or community living is a network of organised rental homes and communities, run by a singular brand. Aimed at the urban migrant workforce, commuting company employees and students who move to larger cities, the $7billion sector in India offers a host of amenities in the serviced accommodation setup.
“The downturn and pandemic have helped us consolidate for the coming future. While remote workspaces have meant that many people have left serviced apartments and rented accommodation, they would return as the situation improves. Our goal is to achieve 18,000 beds by the end of 2020-21”, said Krishna Kumar Vijaiyan, CEO and Co-Founder of Isthara Co Living.
The company, with co-living spaces in Gurgaon, Bangalore and Hyderabad, had earlier pledged stricter safety norms for their residents. These had included proximity checks on the Aarogya Setu app, rigorous sanitisation and trained staff.
These trends include extensive workplace support for work-from-home employees, rigorous sanitisation and safety. There will be an overall hike in rentals too, to support these needs. Diversification into TIER 2 towns and cities, as well as a broader customer base are also on the agenda.
“As we wait for our guests to return, we are endeavouring to provide better services for them. Trained staff, medical assistance and sanitisation are all on our agenda”, he added.
