Hyderabad, 10th July 2024: In the heart of Kurnool District, a tale of unwavering resilience and boundless community spirit unfolded through the journey of Sk. Sania, a 9-year-old girl. Two months ago, she found herself at a crucial crossroads, becoming weak and blue; her fragile state mirrored in the concern etched on the faces of her devoted father, a skilled stone worker, and her caring homemaker mother. The need for immediate medical intervention for her heart brought her to Hyderabad. Her family carried the weight, and an entire community was poised to stand by her side.
Amidst the labyrinthine corridors of the medical world, where hope often reigns supreme, the doctors examined her thoroughly and suggested she needed to undergo a redo of an intricate Fontan procedure, which costs around 12 lakhs—a sum that seemed impossible for her family. Pure Little Hearts Foundation (PLHF) emerged as a beacon of hope, approaching many donors for support on behalf of Sania. In this process, the community united their voices and raised funds through a crowdfunding initiative, a testament to the collective heartbeat of a town rallying behind one of its own. A compassionate benefactor named Sanjana also supported Sania through a generous contribution. In this symphony of goodwill, the amount for Sania’s treatment was raised, which stands as a testament to the boundless potential of community solidarity and compassion. On the day of the operation, the doctors strived to perform the complex procedure for Sania’s weak heart. Thanks to the expertise of the doctors and the resilience of the girl, the operation was successful. Sania and her family were immensely happy. They thanked the doctors, PLHF, and the donors from the bottom of their hearts, filled with gratitude. After her recovery, Sania returned home, started attending school regularly, and played happily with her younger brother.

About Pure Little Hearts Foundation (PLHF)
The Pure Little Hearts Foundation (PLHF) is a charitable trust founded in March 2022 to aid newborns and children from challenging backgrounds who require cardiac interventions. Its mission is to bridge the gap between ailing little hearts with congenital conditions and the helping hands that can lift them up.
Since its inception, PLHF has supported 206 children, helping them live life to the fullest. These children, from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds, have received treatments related to congenital heart defects, including procedures and heart surgeries. Many of these surgeries are lifesaving in nature. Of the children supported, 79 are girls and 127 are boys, with 61% being below 2 years of age.
