The anticipation is building up for EORtv’s upcoming cricket-based web series titled ‘Game of the Sexes’, what with its unique plotline and a promising ensemble cast. Joining the stellar cast of Shahbaz Khan, Sneha Verma, Vindhya Tiwari and Sachin Verma amongst others is talented actor, Rahul Jaittly.
Speaking about his character in the series, Rahul says, “I am playing the character of Harsh who is a typical Delhi boy. The journey of a non-cricketer becoming a cricketer, and the reason behind it is essayed in my role.”
‘Game of the Sexes’ is set in the post-COVID period when audiences have stopped coming to the stadium and the Cricket Board decides to restore the thrill and curiosity in the game cricket. A woman proposes an idea of mixed gender cricket match that gets approval from the Board, however she herself gets embroiled into a scandal and gets expelled by the Board.
The series is created and directed by award-winning director and producer, Deepak Pandey. Rahul accepted the series immediately on hearing about the story. “Deepak Pandey Sir is one of my favourite directors. I have worked with him earlier as well and have learnt a lot from him,” exclaims Rahul. “The script is fantastic and we all have so much to perform. Cricket is considered as a religion in our country and its been a dream to do a project related to cricket as I used to play professional cricket before becoming an actor,” he adds.
Helming EORtv are Executive Directors of EORtv, Dr Kaushik Izardar and Deepak Pandey. The web series Game of the Sexes will soon launch on EORtv and features an ensemble cast including Shahbaz Khan, Sachin Verma, Sneha Wagh, Vindhya Tiwari, Shobhit Attray, Piyush Ranade, Kumar Vaibhav, Riya Deepsi, Rumana Molla, Rahul Jaittly, Zeeshan Khan, Ishani Sharma, Shiraz Khan, Megha Prasad, Mamta Kumari and Annurag Batra.
The team has just wrapped up shooting in the chilly weather of Moradabad. “It was a fantastic experience shooting in Moradabad. I am overwhelmed with the warmth of people there and their hospitality. It feels like home as this is my second project there. The kind of support we received from our local cricket coach and young cricketers from the city who are also a part of our web series was outstanding. And yes, the local cuisine was another highlight of the experience,” shares Rahul.
Rahul Jaittly was seen in the film, A Daughter’s Tale Pankh. He has done television shows like Dagar Panghat Ki, Savdhaan India, Crime Patrol, and Airlines. He has featured in over 20 commercial ads and worked in theatre for 4 years. He’s a renowned face in the Punjabi industry and his Punjabi film with Tarsem Jasaar and Ranjit Bawa directed by Kshitij Chaudhary will be releasing this year. He has also done a lead role in the Punjabi serial Heer Ranjha for Zee Punjabi, and featured in many popular Punjabi music videos.
